Greetings!
Wherever you are in the world and whoever you are, hope you are well. I don't know if this will reach anyone, but if it reaches one person, then it is all worthwhile.

Even though in one sense, I feel as though I'm yet another piano player in a world saturated by talented musicians, I am reminded by the quote from the movie Full Metal Jacket and replace rifle with piano.
"This is my piano. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My piano is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my piano is useless. Without my piano, I am useless..."
While there exists many pianists of all levels. We all answer the call to contribute bringing our unique stamp to music. We are all accessing and tapping into the creative river of music, whose source is ultimately God and one of His creative energies and gifts to mankind.

My performing name is Nepsis Way. Nepsis is an ancient Greek word meaning watchfulness or sobriety of mind, a state of alert, clear-eyed awareness. In the Orthodox Christian tradition, it became a cornerstone of hesychast spirituality, describing the inner stillness and attentiveness required to guard the heart against distracting or destructive thoughts. The elders of the church, saints like Hesychios of Sinai and Philotheos of Sinai, wrote entire treatises on the practice of nepsis, treating it not as passive quietude but as an active, vigilant sobriety of soul. To be neptic is to be awake at the threshold of the heart, noticing what enters before it takes root.
As a name and artistic identity, Nepsis Way carries that same idea outward, music, creativity, and expression as a form of wakefulness. Not escapism, but the opposite: a fully present engagement with beauty, truth, and the inner life. The music isn't background noise. It asks something of you.

I'm doing live performances online and making music videos to make a contribution. I don't know who if anyone will listen to what I have to offer. I hope that whoever does give my music a listen is edified in their soul in some way, is uplifted and walks away feeling good. The world is crazy out there and we all need to stay positive amidst the chaos. I also do it because I love it! Glory to God for the gift of music!
